▛ The UTAU Militia is a male vocal unit composed of four voicebanks for the UTAU/OpenUTAU software, represented by four different militaristic character designs.
This UTAU unit first debuted as a group in 2024 with a cover of "Catchy!?" by composer r-906. ▟
It is also important to note that the setting and its military-themes are all fictional, from the uniforms, to the ranks, to the story.
Who are the characters in this group?

Vasily is an agile field soldier focused on close-range combat and maintenance.
He is upheld as a shining example within his unit thanks to his reckless, ambush-style approach.
He gets hurt often, and when his fears overtake him, praise turns into mockery.
Vasily is physically quite weak as well. He really enjoys praise.

Rusnovski is a robot built for heavy-duty tasks that require a lot of strength. He is made to be very durable and sturdy. His appearence may cause fear within his enemy,
but his playful nature never fails to cheer up his peers. He is a prototype model of a machine made to be mass-produced, which was ruled out as too dangerous.
Rusnovski remains the only model made and occassionally works for both sides.

He is not very well-known among his peers, if not feared or ridiculed. He is quite reclusive and operates inside bunkers. He is often tasked with checking and maintaining
radio communication stations, which are pretty much always set in the middle of nowhere.
Ampleforth アンプルフォース

Conflict side: United Forces Army
Ampleforth is a rookie private that was forcefully hired into the military after being discarded from an office job. This was in an effort to earn passive income for his owner company
despite being unfit to work in a cubicle. Ampleforth seems like a nice, air-headed person. Despite this, there is a deep hatred for humans brewing inside of him. He is great at writing, however, he can only speak in a limited version of what he thinks - Newspeak.
What time period is the UTAU Militia set in?
Clash of old and new technology
▛ The UTAU Militia's universe takes place in a strange, dystopian version of today's world. The military remained stunted in technology since the 1950s, but
when one field did not advance, the other did so, and rapidly. Development in robotics had great advancements, reaching all the way back to the 80s. With a cold war bubbling up
between the two major militant units, a funny picture was put into place. A world where human-like robots with feelings, hopes and dreams, appear in a setting that looks more like
the Second World War with all of its outdated technology, fighting under the looming hands of megacorporations and anti-robot revolutionary groups, while the world around them
decays under industrial pressures.▟
What is happening in these militant conflicts?
Endless cold war without progressions
▛ Both the Black Banner and United Forces are in a state of cold war. There are no active conflicts where soldiers would truly fight on the frontlines, but it always seems like
they soon will. This unease puts both sides in constant caution despite the formal communications between them. Hostages are being taken and sometimes ambushes and attacks are being made,
but it is never enough to provoke a full-on war.▟
Army of the Black Banner
▛ The Black Banner started out as a united group of a few governments with revolutionary motives. This side opposes the advances in robotics in more ways than one and wants
to assure better laws for equalization of both humans and robots. It prides itself in group organisation and its fearless, predominantly human soldiers. Whenever this side
recruits robots or even manufactures them, they adhere to stricter rules, and fill out more spots that are based on assisting humans (hospital treatment and care, machine operation).
They have much less fancier uniforms than the United Forces and what soldiers wear are mostly field uniforms.▟
United Forces Army
▛ Industry-backed military unit that is slightly bigger in size than the Black Banner. It is a known dumping ground for older and outdated robots with less training and
qualifications, which is taken advantage of. The United Forces are less organised and less work is also done on a daily basis, but it varies from one base to another.
Robots are cheap and don't really need much to function, so they make up for about 40% of the whole unit. Ironically, the robots are treated worse by leadership and must
adhere to bad conditions. Any slight mishappening can assure a rank lowered or an assortment of different punishments. ▟
